Our Hydrotherapy sessions take place at the Freeways Hydrotherapy Unit. Please contact us to make an individual booking. Hydrotherapy treatment is included with our treatment packages.

The term hydrotherapy is derived from the Greek words ‘hydro’ meaning water and ‘therapeia’ meaning healing. Water was also used  widely by the Romans for curative purposes, as can be seen at Bath Spa.

Physiotherapists use the heated water during treatment programmes   because it produces the following effects:-

  • Relieves Pain
  • Eases muscle spasm and joint stiffness.
  • Induces relaxation
  • Buoyancy assists improving function
  • Resistance assists in strengthening muscles
  • Increases circulation
